What is blooming this week in my Ottawa Garden

Helleborus  orientalis ‘Lenten Rose’.

I can’t say enough about this shade loving perennial….it is definitely one of my favourites.    It has rich, dark green leaves and beautiful blooms.  The flowers start early April and last six weeks or longer in our yard. The height of this plant is approx 18″ with a width of 24″.

Pulsatilla vulgaris.’ Pasque’ flower

I have a habit of going on and on about this perennial but it is so hard not to mention it when it puts on such an incredible show every spring. A happy ‘Pasque’ plant is in a sunny location.  The flowers range in colour from mauve to violet.  The height is 12″ by approx 18″ wide.

Narcissus ‘Ice follies’

Good old daffodils.  ‘Ice follies’ is one of my favourite daffodils.  I love the white and yellow combo.  These will do well in partial shade to full sun.  The expected size is 18″x12″.
