If your slug situation with your hostas has gotten to the point that you are going out after dark with your flashlight to pick them off….it is time for an intervention.
My best advice? Stop planting hostas with thin leaves and get rid of the ones in your garden that do.
I have found the best way to avoid slugs is to plant hostas with tough, thick, puckered leaves. Since I have made the switch…no more slugs!
